About Tampa Bay Sushi Society

Who we are
Founded in February of 1996 by Andrew J. Moos, Patrick Green and Christine Cooper, all of Tampa. The Tampa Bay Sushi Society now boasts a mailing list of over 800 sushi lovers. Ranging from teachers, students and sales reps to doctors, lawyers and professors ages 21-78, the society includes a vast and diverse membership.

What we do
The Tampa Bay Sushi Society has been running group dinners in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties for almost 7 years. In addition, a networking sushi luncheon meets in Tampa the first Friday of each month for members to promote their business to others in the group. The society also teaches novice sushi eaters about the different types of sushi and what makes a good sushi restaurant. We also help to educate the novice about what makes sushi safe and delicious along with sharing sushi recipes.

Considering that the Tampa Bay market has grown to include over 50 sushi restaurants as well as several grocery stores that offer freshly made sushi, we are ranked as the highest population of sushi lovers in the Southeast United States. Many of the sushi restaurants are quite small and cannot accommodate a large crowd like ours (usually 30-70 people), so we are only able to enjoy the larger ones. The group often makes use of multiple restaurants in one night to accommodate our members.

Benefits
The annual dues to become a member of the Tampa Bay Sushi Society are just $25.00 per person. This entitles you to a membership discount card, and email notices of all society events. The membership discount card offers discounts at several area sushi restaurants & bars, as well as savings on products and services at some of our members' establishments.
